Starting as a Christmas Casual in Gateshead next week

Hello!

I am excited to be starting as a christmas casual at the mail sorting centre on the team valley on the 26th November!

I am just wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect work-wise? I am on the 1400-2200 shift. Also, wondering if there will be any chance of jobs going permanent at the end of the months casual contract - seems unilkely I guess, but thought I would check. Always fancied working for RM.

Welcome rocksthatkill - I don't work in an MC but from descriptions made by our colleagues be prepared for hard work of a repetitive style.

There are many jobs you could be doing from manually sorting letters to sorting parcels or packets.

TBH at the moment there is little chance of work afterwards as RM are currently closing mail centres are reducing the number of posties generally, but to give yourself the best chance of being kept on, or put on a contact list, do the usual work hard.
