Notice

Post by Toot122 »

Hi all, I’m going to hand in my notice and was wondering how much notice I have to give. I started in April, and what will happen with the holiday I have taken? Will that get deducted from my final wage?

It’s a 4 Week notice period according to my contract (I started in March 2024) With regards to your holiday someone correct me if I’m wrong but if you have taken more than you have accrued it will be deducted from your final month pay.

They say 4wks, but what actually can they do if you leave before?, not a lot of company's would hold a job for 4 weeks I think, when I joined Royal mail last month I gave my previous employer 2 wks, they were understanding I couldn't give 4

Surely it's 1 week notice - given that you started recently ?

Nope its one month now. Only those on the older contracts have 1 week notice privileges.

That’s correct.

After 6 months, you will have accrued half of your annual leave. If you've taken more than that, they will deduct the excess; if not, there won’t be any deductions.
