is it right that the £400 we get in april actually goes into the colleague shares and not in our wages.

COR !!!!!! £400 or whatever it really is once the taxman has taken his chunk, I'm off to book that Carribean cruise, and look forward to all that lovely
extra work I'll be expected to do for it, for ever.

*Swoons* Nearly forgot, we'll also get a whopping 1.5% rise in our pittance, which roughly works out at £5 a week. Blimey, if I put that fiver away
every week, I'll be able to get a new car in 2175.

colleague shares

Post by squeaky »

Sorry to disappoint you sammyboy but you have to have the shares for at least a year before you can cash them in when being made redundant (I will be in the same position v v soon!) otherwise they are worth bugger all! :arrrghhh

The plan is every year they give you another 408 shares up to £5300 worth and every june they pay a dividend - 2008 pays £800 - but how many times has someone 'moved the goalposts - so for all those lucky enough to still have an office - don't hold your breath! :left:

you've got a snake oil salesman as Chairman , it's more like The Bank of Toytown , Pay the Bearer on demand . :lfo must think we're ALL stupid and that deluded idiot believes he can sell the idea .Remember that 92p bonus , I hope staff didn't spend it all in the same shop whilst the Board , Senior , Area and Local Managers got 6 and five figure sums for trying to pour a quart into a pint glass which bit RM on the a*** @ Xmas .

Post by Charlotte4 »

Can someone clarify if we get £400 in shares when signing the local flexability agreement or is it £400 in cash.

You get cash when you've gone through the phases, the shares are completely different, that is a National thing and is based on company profit.
So basicially you could get 2 lots, spondoolies and then a nice bit of paper.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

squeaky.....the 'issue date ' in the explanatory notes states May 17th 2007....i actually first got posted them in september, so would i be able to cash them in may or would i have to wait until september? £300 - £400 comes in very useful when you are out of work(through no fault of your own) believe me.

sammyboy - if you are still in post on 17 may 2008 (we get made redundant on the 15!!) then you can cash in your 'shares' and get £408 or wait until they pay out in june 2008 the £816 and then cash them!
good luck job hunting - I don't really know where to start yet! and we are still waiting for the post office redundancy consultants to arrive! they are supposed to be able to arrange retraining up to £1000 - good if you can think what else to do after 20 years :d'oh!
