Post Office Counter Sales Assistant - Aldershot

We are looking for motivated, security focused individuals who will proactively deal with all customers whilst demonstrating a thorough product knowledge through appropriate selling conversations.

Your ethos in life will be about ensuring the customer is happy and you’ll balance excellent product knowledge with the right selling conversations to ensure that every customer is aware of the great products and services on offer. You provide excellent service naturally & are ready to find the right conversations to drive sales growth with every customer. You will go all out to hit your sales targets whilst ensuring you are 100% accurate in your operational procedures. You enjoy learning new things and have a desire to keep up to date on product, operations & security. With an eye for detail, you’ll take pride in balancing your till every day and you’ll fully understand all the security processes and the checks that need to be made.

This is a responsible job for someone who wants to make a difference and thrives on working in a busy, fast moving and challenging counter operation. You will be a team player and have plenty of energy and drive to make your role successful and rewarding.

A lot more than that -WH Smug as they are "affectionally " known have a problem getting experienced /trained staff on what is not much more than minimum wage for some reason !

WH Smith are too busy killing pensioner customers like at Blackpool and to make things worse there's RM 's arrogance in defending their business policy , bet that went down well with his/ her relatives ?

Whatever people think of Blackpool , it has Tourism , it makes money; but RM Group closed their Abington/ Abingdon ? Street Crown Office near the market in the middle of town

I can see loads of posties asking for transfers to this exciting and financially superior employment opportunity. The ad makes you feel like a potential superman doesn't it. If I had the qualities these guys are looking for I'd be telling them to f**k off - not begging them for a job.

I have mentioned WHS pay a few times now! the best bit is they pay different rates for different towns - Aldershot 5.82(was 5.35 in August but for some reason those that applied didn't last long!) whilst Staines merits 6.62 - will be interesting what they offer for Woking when that goes!!
BUT the BEST bit is WHS offered ex Aldershot PO's full POL rates 9.92 when they found they couldn't keep staff - but they had all found better jobs!

To answer a previous post the higher ex-CSA rate is now 9.80 which will go up to over 10.00 in april while the ex-PO rate will tip over the 10.50 mark in april.
So in a nutshell, almost double the rate of Smiffs. It is only fair that this information is known to as many prospective Smiff applicants so they know how they are being treated like muggy c***s.

What a fcuking disgrace, I take it WHSmith are aloud to do this, what about TUPE, doesn't that guarantee your old PO rate.
