Post Office strike breaking manager gets told where to go

Post by LinChong »

The CMA strike on Monday 4th November was ignored by every single manager in a large Post Office unit in East London. One manager even called a meeting last week to ask CWU members who intended to break the CWU strike to put their hands up so he could offer them a lift from the station. The CWU members told him he wasn't allowed to ask anyone that question and asked him why he was going to cross his own picket line. The manager quickly left the room. :left:

"Unite post office managers strike in the UK

Published: 4 November 2013

Members of CMA-Unite in nearly 300 Crown Post Offices are on strike today after more than a year of bargaining with Post Office Ltd. has failed ot produce a fair pay settlement for the managers working in the crown post office network.

The union has already rejected an offer of non-pensionable lump sum payments, noting that members have not had a pay rise in Post Offices since June 2011. Current negotiations were to cover the period June 2012 - May 2013.

Unite officer for Post Office managers Brian Scott said, “Unite is ready to have talks at anytime with the Post Office to resolve this matter, but the management has taken a very hardline stance against our members who have seen their living standards seriously eroded.”
