Sick Pay 6 Month Probationary Period

Post by chrismalaga »

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone knew whether I am entitled to full pay if I am sick during my 6 month probationary period as a CSC?

Thanks,

Chris

Not sure what a CSC is but a standard OPG - Postie - contract is no sick pay for the first year. After that a cumulative 6 months sick pay in any 4 year period paid from 1st day of absence, and then 6 months half pay.

And for OPG, if you're off sick in first 6 months, they can extend your probationary period by the amount of time u were off sick by. Tried to do it with me but as it was an accident at work that caused it..... well needless to say words were said and got a positive outcome :)

I am not certain but I think you have to work for 12 months before you are entitled to paid Sick Leave. I advise you contact Human Resources Service Centre on 0845 6016260.

This number is always on your Pay Advice. I always direct my questions to them, because I don't trust local management to give me accurate information.
