Subbies on strike?
All of our agreements are usually got through either strike action or the threat of it (and when xmas is over but that's for another thread) so i'm wondering,all you subbies out there,would you follow Letters lead to get the deal you want?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Subbies will never strike. Thats the reality of it. But there is another way. Just as, if not even more, powerful and that is a mass resignation. The NFSP actually have that power in their rules I think to give 3 months notice on behalf of their members.
Then of course untilateral action which would probably only be tiresome to POL but would at least make them take some notice. Unilateral rejection of S17 - the product restriction clause, stop mail segregation etc etc.

Walking out is a blunt instrument, we Subbies have much more interesting tools in our armoury, designed to cause pain where its needed, without effecting our public. And our public can always be relied upon to lend a hand as well.
