It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

By not joining (my option) or by resigning your membership and denying them their pocket money. Let's face it, they do nothing but rubber stamp every dictat from RM /POL, or they pen a letter of complaint, which is ignored, and RM / POL just go right ahead and impose pay and conditions as they want. Just as they did last year. And the year before. Oh, and the year before that.

What amazes me is when I've occasionally called HR with a pay or conditions issue, they refer me to the NFSP as if NFSP were another branch of RM /POL, which I suppose it is, it seems like when they tell NFSP to bend over, Georgie Porgie and his cronies grit their teeth and touch their toes. If I had the time and the energy I'd look into what constitutes the definition of a 'closed shop' under EU law these days, and take action to ensure that RM /POL can never just refer you to NFSP even though I'm not a member and wouldn't ever lower myself to contact anyone in that sorry association.

Fine and dandy they are up to a certain point then they just cut you adrift.

There are some good Branch Secretaries out there but I have lost all faith in the hierarchy too.

I feel sorry for the person who has to compile the magazine and keep positive about eveything.

The "pay deal" they have agreed for this year is absolutely shocking, I still can't believe quite how bad it is :shock:

It wasn't a pay deal Billy. Basically from what i've been told they bundled up the £600 colleague share payment that was ours by right anyway, and the £400 lump sum that all you employed guys got, and included this £1000 as part of the deal!!!! Meanwhile they agreed to reduce more commission rates for sales than they negotiated increases for, what a bunch of twats, the only thing that has been achieved is a freezing of the fixed element of our pay, which was set to fall.
They even included the flow through from the postage increase as part of the pay deal, this flow through was part of a pay deal from years ago you cant just keep saying this is an increase to annual pay just because postage has increased in value.

And this is from the people who want to run POL as a Mutual, god save us.
