Santander
Why is it that when a customer comes in to a Post Office to open a cash isa it's done straight away, with a receipt etc, yet when i took my isa application in to Santander yesterday, I'm told it will be processed "eventually" meaning I don't get interest until then and no sign of a receipt for the 10K cheque I handed over.

Re: Santander
Having experienced Santander losing a substantial amount of money from a friend's account I wouldn't have given them anything without a receipt!
This touches on the same ideas as the "Bank experience" thread. The banks/building societies seem to get away with this sort of thing. Several times I have been told that I can't open an account over the counter at the building society without an appointment yet we are expected to instantly serve somebody who wanders in at 10am on a monday clutching 5 passport applications.
