POSTOFFICE-SPECIALISTS

Post by kathleen1 »

How many specialists can you have in one office? we got asked today if anyone wanted to be a homephone specialist?, come
on now there will be no-one serving soon. I have a picture in my head me serving the queue to the door the ABM,FS, TRAVEL
SPECIALIST, SAVING SPECIALIST, DRIVING LICENCE SPECIALIST, and the HOMEPHONE SPECIALIST all staring at me saying "she hasn't had a conversation yet" whilst i can feel their eyes sinking into me, and the queue saying " is there only one serving"? and they all reply "yes" but we haven't had a referral yet, we will have to take her off the counter for coaching
hang on a minute we can't she is the only one serving.

No wonder the postoffice is in a mess they spend ridiculous amounts of money on a load of crap, instead of leaflets, charts, travel days, consent to contact forms, why don't they just make the bureau rates better? we give them the answers but no-one listens the answer you get back is "don't tell the customer the rate", thats OPEN,FAIR and HONEST not.
I need VR so desperately for my health, i will be in Ashworth soon ( for nutters- no offence).I wonder if they will ever need a
vault card specialist or catalogue returns specialist i would smash my targets and get the best bonus ever.

kathleen, you missed out the queue host

Your post is spot on. Very often we have three staff on. One doing bureau, one doing passports. If the third one gets 20 eBay packets, you're in trouble. Usualy the postman arrives at this point. :nana

My manager asked me today "would I like to be a Retail Specialist" ? after five minutes of me laughing, he wasn't amused I said "no thanks" in a polite manner. What on earth is going on with this company, why on earth would you have a counter clerk putting envelopes and retail products out on display when you have the BM, ABM, FS, all standing around doing nothing. He then told me every passport form given out ask them "would you like a passport holder"? also every tax disc issued "would you like a tax disc holder"? its smells of utter desperation to me.

I would put my name forward to be a specialist, Annual leave Specialist, Duty Specialist, because the people who do it haven't got a clue and don't care because they can have their leave when they want but don't forget we are all part of a TEAM.

We have two people on the bureau. Today my tea break was before the other person started. His tea break coincided with my lunch. My tea break coincided with his lunch and his tea break was after I had finished. Our manager said she couldn't understand why this had happened. It is her who prints out the break times!!
