I was wondering how maternity pay works for new sub postmasters - I've received conflicting information..
I'm in the process of buying a post office, do we need to wait 1 year before being eligible for maternity pay and holiday pay..
Or does it depend on if the previous subpostmaster has claimed any holiday pay and maternity pay and if not we can claim?

Re: Maternity Pay and Holiday Pay
You would be best to get hold of a full copy of a Subpostmasters Contract. Subpostmasters are not employee's of POL, they are classed as agents, and as such do not get maternity pay. You can claim what is called "Holiday Relief" pay to help cover the cost of someone running your branch whilst you are on holiday. How exactly it all works I am not sure.

Re: Maternity Pay and Holiday Pay
Hi, I am holding a contract, working 16,5 hours in a week. I am pregnant and have started my antenatal classes. Because I attend them my employer cuts 1 hour weekly from my contracted hours, although I told her I could swap hours with another colleague who is happy with it. Does my employer have right to cut my hours that I attend my antenatal classes?
Thanks
Thanks
