An improved offer was made by POL, lets hope so considering a couple of weeks ago we were told by Paula Vennells you are overpaid and underworked compared to other retail outlets and there are no funds left for the crown counter staff to have a payrise.I hope the union ask us the staff about the 'closed offer' who have been very patient with the union too patient for our office and give POL notice to strike that may speed up the process, come on Andy give it to them they are walking all over us we have had ENOUGH.

Gotta be careful not to just see the pound signs. This is what POL will be hoping, there will be major consequences of any deal struck before I.A. Some wobblers will take any old toffee thrown at them if they think they won't have to strike.
(I don't mean you personally kathleen1, but I have heard it said.)
To me, "Giving consideration to the merits of the offer." simply means weighing up the good against the bad.
What's the point of a payrise, lumpsum etc if on 31st March your office is announced for conversion?
Royal Mail Group, (yes WE work for them, we are NOT seperate), have already started 'interpreting' elements of MTSF 2 within other group functions with cumpulsory redundancies. Take a look on some of the other 'boards' here and the very real reality of CR is on all our doorsteps.
JOB SECURITY and NETWORK GUARANTEES must take precedence.
Keep all offers closed Mr Furey until it contains the two points above.

Well said Billy. CR is now a reality-there are already managers from POL who have left the business under CR terms. It is here and very real and heading in our direction. So whilst any %age increase is welcome there are other major points to consider which I am sure the CWU reps in the meetings with the business will take into account.

CR is here, FACT.
At the end of the day the Business split the opposition, pitted union against union and so many people fell for it.
Just read some of the embittered comments by union memebers on this site in the last 6 months.

I hasn't even been union against union. It's been different parts of the same union ie admin against front line staff. A very clever piece of "divide and conquer" by the business which we fell for.
Now that CMA graded staff have fallen to CR it will not be long before it reaches CWU grades as well. Anyone who thinks MTSF will protect them is wrong.

I agree with you all JOB SECURITY is the most important issue, our staff in our office are very much in the dark we hear no feedback of our managers about the crown office network no surprise there i hear you say. We all find it very odd we feel people no whats going on but not saying anything.We expect a big announcement soon by POL, i feel thats why they are not bothered about strike action because we won't be here very long, what an abysmal company we work for only interested in sales.If anyone does get information please post here, thanks.

Thats because they don't know anything either. they are not given the courtesy of that kind of vital information either. I think maybe the penny is dropping that managers get it just as bad as you do. It could be argued that its worse as it comes from top and bottom and they are powerless to tell you anything but that another discussion.
i have sat in a meeting as a manager, discussing what targets I have no option but to accept, and someone senior in the company has let slip that "it will all change in fortnight anyway once the preference exercise for sales is complete". He was whisked out the room by the Head of sales and there was an embarassed denial of knowledge of anything happening. Needless to say people lost jobs in the following weeks. Half the people sat in that room in fact.
its everyone that is getting shafted.
