Hi,
I am desperate for any advice!! 3 weeks ago I posted my son's DLA claim by special delivery as it had to be received by the third of November. I checked the online tracker and it had definitely been received and a phone call to the DWP confirmed this. They've now said they only received the form on the 9th of November and I've lost the receipt with the tracking ID on it. Is there anyway post office counter staff can check what special deliveries they have taken? I know what date and roughly what time I handed the envelope in.
I know I should have kept the receipt safe but if there is any chance I could get some help to get the tracking ID I'd be so grateful. We need all the help we can get for my son and we could lose alot from the claim now not getting backdated thanks to my stupidity :-(
Thanks

Hi, Go into the office were you posted the special delivery and ask to see the manager.
Explain to him/her and they should be able to get the tracking id from the despatch report that there should still be a copy of in the branch.
Depending on what information you can give them (and how many specials they received that day) it should be a short process of elimination before they find the right one. The more accurate the time the easier it will be to find.
