Want to praise a Post Office Counter Assistant

Hi all,

I am wanting to send a letter of praise about a Post Office Counter Assistant (is this even the right job title?) She works in a small branch inside a small supermarket and she is FANTASTIC! She always has a smile on her face and is always really helpful. Today I mentioned that I was slightly confused about the cost of sending things, and whether something was a small letter, a large letter, a packet or a parcel. She gave me a leaflet and spent five minutes explaining all the different options and size limits etc.

Anyway, was just wondering if anyone could advise me on where to send such a letter? I know it's probably standard things which most assistants do, but people are so quick to send a letter of complaint and not so forthcoming when its praise.

Didn't see it myself but if it contained even masked expletives it would fall foul of the guidance. Also you mean that postman thought you were telling lies - probably not but if it did contain something like:

Don't bother they are not interested.
Management don't care

etc, then it also falls foul of the guidance about not sounding off.


To be honest in the Customers Area we try as much as possible to answer the questions as accurately and concisely as possible and leave all work and political stuff yo the other forums.

You could send one to her manager - some managers actually like getting praise letters for their staff!!
Or you could speak to the supermarket manager - he/she might help too!!

Sorry but i think the above is a hoax!!! if you wanted to praise someone who had just served you you would say Thank you there and then or ask for the manager. 'She works in a small branch' another way of saying we dont need crowns. 'inside a small supermarket' Franchised office ' is FANTASTIC' No she gave good customer service, no one is fantastic!!!! 'she always has a smile on her face' well she could be constipated! think you are mystery shopper, concerned over your stalking techniques...or a POL spy putting an ideal PO clerk on here, who happens to work better than a crown colleague in a franchised office.... Sorry but the above is a load of Bull SH*T...we have a spy in the camp...steering things up

Blimey talk about reading between the lines - you certainly read a lot into a post asking for advice.

Not sure why its a hoax - For a Hoax to have any point someone has to gain something. If not funny in the sligtest so its not a comedy hoax. Its not a false praise hoax as no names have been mentioned. Your claim about someone stiring things up by mentioning a Sub Office and intimating they are better than a Crown Office that might have some validity due to the current situation until you realise the post was made nearly 4 months ago. Sometimes people get good service from Royal Mail or POL employees and if they do an internet search for RM this is usually near the top of the results - and if they want to get advice or pass on praise all they have to do is register and post.
