On the 22nd June 2010 we were given LTB 559/10:
"I wish to reiterate that there should be no further co-operation at local level with any initiatives that seek to reduce head count reduction/savings or movement of traffic as delivery of significant savings in Supply Chain is an integral element of POL's policy. Should you be approached about making savings of any kind you must take the issue through the Industrial Relations Framework and notify the department immediately.
I am also enclosing with this LTB two pay bulletins that have been sent to Cash Centres/Admin and Crew members' home addresses.
Any enquiries in relation to this LTB please contact Claire Bowers at cbowers@cwu.org.
Yours sincerely
Andy Furey
Assistant Secretary"
Are all local reps aware of this LTB?
Area Reps and Territorial reps should be and the venerable Branch Secretaries should have made all the POL reps in their branches aware of this LTB. Yet, there have been duty revisions and other methods of savings carried out with the connivance of union officials contrary to the orders from Headquarters. How can we hope to get a decent pay deal?
