Scales? PO guys please read!

Have you guys got new weighing scales?
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Crownie here. Same scales as always + 1 for fast drop, or whatever they call it.

Not to be TOO nerdy but the scales we use now are the FX140 model. :shock:

These were installed after our 'refit' across all counters.

Looky here at the Avery site for details:

http://www.averyweigh-tronix.com/main.a ... rcel+scale" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also, the pricing in proportion template can be bought here for around a tenner.

http://www.averyweigh-tronix.com/pip/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

When is the Watchdog article going to be on?

If I had to read between the lines, I would say that there has been a jump in underpayments leading to surcharges because of the Post & Go machines.

When we do not have a Meeter/Greeter available to show people how to use it properly, (short-staffed folks!), You can see from the other side of the office someone placing a bloody great envelope stuffed full of documents etc and choosing the wrong service, paying for it, then jamming it into the post box before making a hasty retreat for the exit.

My favourite is when I empty the post & go mail boxes and some ebay berk has put the wrong postage on a 12" vinyl and clogged up the mail box so all other mail sits on top of it with a practically empty sack, ( ooer! :oops:), underneath. :Applause

The machine will only cancel out the services not applicable by weight, they can't tell you if it should be 'large letter' or 'packet'. That is for the customer to select on the screen.

A large percentage of customers do not use the PiP template that is connected to the machine or just don't understand it.

We recently had to re-do the mails compliance on PiP just to cover our own backs.

Of course the flip side is that there are some lazy fu##ers out there on the counter not using it for all inland items when serving a customer... :whistle
If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.
