Those eligible for the payments (1.8m people)- who were gas customers - will receive a letter from Npower which they can then take to the Post Office to cash in.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
I understand why The BFO has posted her comment but unfortunately I feel that there is nothing sensible to say about Q busters FULL STOP
It is arguably the worst initiative imposed upon us in recent times by the increasingly inept senior management of POL. (Except for the LEAN project of course)!
All that Q busters does, in the words of Basil Fawlty, is "state the bleedin' obvious" and it's been launched in a blaze of propaganda as radical new thinking.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!
"They couldn't see what should have been so obvious".
We had a great discussion on Q-Busters in this morning's WTL.
We all agreed that the number of seconds we save by having till rolls in the bottom drawer must add up to...well...an awful lot of seconds. Think just how many customers must be delighted with this little element of Q-Busters.
Then we discussed how customers must be ecstatic when told "thanks for waiting" after a totally unacceptable waiting time in our office, especially if it sounds insincere to boot.
Hands up who thinks Q-Busters will make the slightest bit of difference at Christmas!
You couldn't make it up could you?

I agree that levels of absurdity have now reached an all time high. I truly never believed it would get to this magnitude, for so long. I applaud those who come up with all these new ideas, their powers of imagination are way beyond my comprehension.

How long do they think it takes to grab a till roll off the pile behind me and load it into the printer. I usually do both while customers are searching thru' their handbags or examing each note I have paid them before individually folding them and arranging them in their purse i.e. it doesn't save any time at all.
And as for the suggestion about getting enough money out to serve with... I'm sorry, after 25 years on the counter I had managed to figure it out for myself. Anyway, in days gone by you would have been shot for closing up before 10 to go and visit the cashier if you hadn't counted anough money to serve with. There again that was in the day when the boss watched what was going on. Now they're too busy filling in wallcharts to even notice if you have attended at all.

Was Q-busting only for last year, I haven't heard it mentioned this year, maybe POL are not bothered how long our customers wait as long as you try and rip them off sending S.D, and POL wonder why are offices are empty the rest of the year. No-one is on annual leave in our office, but you still only have two or three clerks serving with all the mail going abroad its an absolute joke, queue to the door and BM says "lets have an hour on life insurance" how about for once serving the queue as efficient as possible. Its business standard to manage queues effectively in the Crown Career Path booklet, but they choose to ignore that statement when it suits. HO!! HO!! HO!!! merry christmas everyone on R.M.Chat.

I suppose one really effective way of 'Busting' a 'Q' is to tell everybody "our system's crashed so we simply can't serve you today!"
I reckon that only takes one brave soul to shift that queue!
Our office didn't even have anyone in charge our BM went home because he had toothache, all the sub-offices shut, the F.S showed the customers how to use the A.T.M, then when horizon came back on we had 3 clerks serving for the rest of the day and we had to take our break. Then they rang up the next day and said "why was our cash machine empty?" you couldn't make it up, roll on the mutualisation and get rid of all these deadhead managers.

Our Branch Manager, ever the opportunist, decided the time was ripe for a one and a half hour lunch break...
One doesn't want to be bothered by all those irritating customers who aren't prepared to listen to our lovingly honed sales conversations...
