Hi all,
Yesterday, I had a customer asking on what is the difference between Parcelforce and Royal Mail for sending small parcels. I know that we, through Royal mail, are sending the packages up to 20 kg. But can someone help me with a more detailed answer? Do we, the Royal Mail postmen, in some cases also deliver the Parcelforce packages at home?
Thanks for your response!

Re: Quick customer question
From a receiving customers POV There is no difference.
From a senders I think that all parcels are tracked when they go through Parcel Force and the prices are different in some cases.
AFAIK we do not normally deliver PF packets, although there may be exceptions.

Re: Quick customer question
We deliver up to 20kg, they do up to 30kg.
Their tracking numbers are different to ours so I don't think we'd be able to deliver one of theirs unless it wasn't a tracked one... which sort of defeats the point of using them in the first place doesn't it?!

While i can't be arsed to go through the whole compare them and us price malarky,it does seem a bit confusing.
I'll copy this to the PO forum and see what they say.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Parcelforce deliver in our town and it's nearby villages but leave their items for really rural addresses at our DO and we deliver them. We have sheets to get signed and date/time. These get posted back every day.

Except when the PF driver can't find a cottage, stops us in the lane, then scans the parcels before we deliver them for him a couple of minutes later.Aprilaydee wrote:We deliver up to 20kg, they do up to 30kg.
