I expect a LTB from HQ about details of a ballot for industrial action, no later than the end of THIS week.

The reason it has all gone quiet on our pay is because our National Officer has been in South Africa since day one of the FIFA World Cup.
For the duration of the tournament.

POL made it clear over a month ago that we are overpayed. End of. No more talks were planned.

Time to pay back for the extended beano the membership subs have afforded you, by pulling the proverbial finger out.

And about time too. I am not particularly in favour of a strike, but am inclined to think the argument that Public Sector workers should take an effective pay cut due to the incompetence of Bankers, Senior Managers and the like is a little odious. It’s all too convenient to say there is no money available due to the economic situation. I didn’t create it, so why should I have to pay for it?

Insofar as Crown Offices are concerned we need a ballot to assess the strength of feeling.
