They've realised we have a queue!

Post by PostalOfficer »

I assume all Crown Office staff (sorry, 'colleagues') had the same video training this morning?

For those of you that fell asleep during tha talk on sales figures and bonus schemes*, you will have missed Richard Barker saying that we have been failing to keep queues down and people weren't receptive to selling when they had waited in a long queue.

Well done for realising these points, Richard - albeit 2 years after most clerks.

I noticed a lot of meaningless phrases like "Working hard to reduce the queue", but didn't hear how this is going to happen without spending money.

And please, no more ideas like taking a clerk off the counter to "host" the queue  0

*We especially liked the bit about clawing back when we reach 115% of target, when we couldn't even get to 90% this year :left:

At what point did this revelation occur?
I only ask because it was only when the figure got to 4 billion that they noticed the pension deficit

I am a crown office colleague but I didn't get any video training yesterday. Should we all have had it. I would have liked to have seen it

You could stay behind after work and watch it if you are that interested.

Does anyone know how to download these broadcasts so that I may watch them in bed on my new wide screen telly?

I brleive these broadcasts are to be released as a boxed video set by the BBC as part of their comedy club collection

As I say, the first half of the session was all about the bonus scheme, complete with handouts. As a national thing I assumed it would be delivered to everybody. Not sure of the intricacies of the screen, but I think you press the SPACE bar on the keyboard at any time to access the menu of archived programmes.

It should have been delivered as part of your normal WTL session, via the FocusTV screen. As per Postal Officers post, it can be accessed using the wireless keyboard that comes with the screen, but some offices have issues with keyboards not working, whilst others have no keyboard at all. This can be sorted quite easily by contacting the FocusTV people, and your BM should do this, if they haven't already. If, for whatever reason, the FocusTV is not operational, the WTL materials are available to download via the Intranet, along with the videos, which can be played on the office PC. Your BM should also do this. I guess you can see the running theme here! If you don't get your WTL, and you want to know what is going on, ask your BM.
