Post Office Insurance x x

Post by alisonmuir04 »

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and not sure if this is the right place to ask but here goes...

I am trying to get Post Office Car Insurance from the PO website.

The first page of the application asks me for a branch code???!?! What is this?

I've looked on MoneySavingExpert and it mentions something about a fad code?!

Where do I get this from? I'm very confused.

Can any of you sweet Postmen/women help me??? :Very Happy

your local post office has car leaflets, on the back of these is the code. each office has a different one. nip into your local and eighter pick a leaflet up or ask them what their fad code is.

You can still get a quote without putting in a FAD code but if you want to put one in you can always use ours it's 0170267. LOL

Heya, thanks Chivers lol you're naughty

I've just tried it though....it's not worked!!?!?

My friend says she's sure it gave her a discount and it's something to do with the PO getting commission... i wouldn't want both sides to miss out!

oooooh lol i'm getting hot and frustrated with this now :coolr !

Is the branch code the same as this fad code? and is the same as this number on the back of the leaflet that wasn't there?!

Or what can I say to the horrible man that shouted at me?!

Hi all

Yes the branch code is what used to be called the FAD code
ours was 009923 6 with the 6 being a check digit (code no longer
valid) so if website will not take 7 digits - try 6?

Also on PO website the 'Branch Locator' gives the Branch code
along with the address, phone number etc

And when you have bought your insurance online (with a nice
code) go back to the 'nasty man' and tell him all this and that
his office won't be getting the sale (which is what it's supposed
to be all about these days!) So he really shot himself in the foot
on that one - passing up an easy sale - where was his manager
standing over his shoulder checking his sales patter
? :Very Happy :Very Happy

Just shows how 'good' all this selling stuff is!

Yes, but who knows what the initials FAD actually stand for?

Now that really IS interesting...

Have you tried doing it by phone. It's a free phone number. They are quite helpful (well they were when my Mum phoned them) You do not HAVE to have a code to buy PO insurance. The guy in the office you went in must be mad. We are crying out for customers like you that know what they want without us having to do all the talk trying to sell it to you.
Good luck
