Quick question re the new setup at the Post Office and sending mail/packets...i notice that all counter staff now issue a COP regardless of the item sent, not sure how long this has been in for....whereas before a PO counter stamp would be used on a COP/SignedFor slip now you just get a receipt with the counter staff writing on the receipt the postcode and house no. manually.
What good is this?

Are you saying that I can get a proper certificate of posting as in the "old says" whereby they would actually print out on the reciept the podtcode & house no.? Cheers.clockworkjerk wrote:classy idea to give those few extra seconds to sell![]()
there are very easy ways around it with recordeds/special, it simply depends if you get some one who knows how to put them through like that. Always loopholes in the system

Re: Certificate's of Posting (CoP's)
you will only get a printed receipt with the postcode and number PRINTED on it, if you send by rec or special delivery. This is because the postcode needs to be verified.
Normal 1sts and 2nds can print receipts with time of posting weight service used etc but theaddress has to be written in.
Most of us override this function as it takes so long to print off and most customers dont want it. If they insist on a COP we can still resort to the old fashioned write address on a slip and datestamp.
