It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Post Office Clerks Where Are You?

Post by bigjames »

In my office, roughly two-thirds are leaving the business (at the last count) and far from being angry, they are pleased with the cash they will be getting, but then a lot of them are at an age when the package is very tempting.
They are also getting tired of the constant spin and mis-information they are being fed, both by management and the CWU, and to be honest they feel they would be better off out of it.
At times I can't blame them.

Post Office Clerks Where are you?

In our office - everyone is going! we have to wait to the end of the year - so I don't know what is worse - dragging it out or going quickly like Aldershot? who would want to go to WHS anyway at £5.65 for all the work we do - better off in sainsburys in the cat food aisle! After 20yrs in POL (and the offer of £25,000) who would want to travel to a far away office - especially with a £2,000 pay cut - I had a grand in Sat Prem last year - its a lot of money to lose - and as I said before they can't work out our bonus on time let alone csa 7,8,9 based on office sales every month and them bonus on top  Maybe there will be life after POL - its just a bit scarey after 20yrs :Confused

Just for interest , what are Branch office staff on per hour ?, It`s the main question we are always asking ourselves & the answer we are never told !.I`m personally hoping the `strike` goes ahead, as it should get a lot quieter in our office , something our local posties can testify too !.As i said in an earlier post , as `franchise staff` we are left `out in the cold` , we are paid by asda , follow POCL rules , yet are excluded from material from the `sub-postmaster` people, Anyone else in the same position ?

£9.92 for a PO on max - this is what all the fuss is about - management says we are overpaid! - they don't have to pay my mortgage (in SE) council tax etc !

I work in one of the 15 offices that POL don't want but can't quite get away with shutting up shop just yet,at least the 70 know whats happening to them and when, try getting out your bed every morning ,to go into another day of maybe this is the dayand we couldhave this for another year.

yes the thought of being in an office that is in 'limbo' i.e. one of the 15 makes me feel lucky that my office is one of the 70 chosen to convert into WHSmith's.Does anyone know what the terms and conditions are like in a WHSmiths franchise office??the majority of the customers are sad at the closure of the the existing site...but life is change and things have to be dealt with.
