Regrettably I have, not quite as bad but I have seen people try to posties when working in callers office. Called police to escort them out as well.

Had a couple of nasty situations happen. Not as bad as that but still not nice.

Usually when someone dependant on a Giro has no I.D. and they are after the cash for their next score or bottle they can get quite colourful.

Also used to have a couple of guys in from the local care centre where they would promote independance for the clients but unfortunately sometimes they'd come in without having had their medication and they could really go nuts over the littlest of things.

tried to do the hard sell eh armani doesn't work with some i guess you have been lucky not to have had a poke in the eye from some of the customers

Get customers like that in callers quite often, mainly the no ID brigade

and the ones that come in before their parcels come back, having a go cause the postie 'did'nt knock'(yeh, he wants to walk round for hours with your bloody packet in his bag!). Luckily I've only had to press the bandit alarm twice this year so far. Do you notice if 1 person starts moaning at you it works its way along the queue, 'Postman never knocks.......why does my post always turn up late...........charging me a quid to collect a letter..........etc.

Never tried the hard sell. Never had to, quality customer service is where its at for me.

In my first week at my current office I had to break up a fight between 2 crack-heads in our lobby as they were blocking the door and the doley's were complaining!

I thought the guy in the video was quite restrained, we have people much worse than that on an almost daily basis! with much more colourful language! When I used to work in leafy Surrey I got at least 2 death threats, and one day a thug was waiting outside for me when we closed. Luckily I always look through the peephole before I leave, and just went out the back door instead.

Have had to deal with a couple of near-abusive complaining customers in the last couple of days who were haranguing me and my team because their Mail Redirections haven't started. Royal Mail Customer Services (gags just lining up to be cracked at this point, but temptation avoided) just refer them back to the Post Office where they origionally applied, saying it is our fault that the forms didn't hit their desk!
The sad truth is that the Redirection forms were despatched by us in the usual way, but were caught up in the Royal Mail strike action, and the kind people at Customer Services find it easier to blame us and send the customers our way to get them off the phone.

When name badges were first introduced we were given the opportunity to use a 'sensible' made up name. I went by a different name to my own as I worked in my home town, and was the only person of that name in the telephone directory. In those days you had to pay BT to go ex-directory, so unless the business were going to pay for it, I insisted on a pseudonym, and it worked fine. Everyone in my office knew that I used that name, so if anything came back I couldn't say it wasn't me.

The name I chose - John Drake aka Dangerman! I thought it was hilarious at the time, but my guvnor wasn't quite so amused!!!
