It's like i said before, unless you guys send me your birth cirtificates,a note from your mum, and some holiday pics it is impossible to know who you are.
Not saying that you lot are up to no good but it's in your best interests and mine ie the sites.
Can I have a look at Mr Barkers holiday pics please.I bet he went somewhere really expensive!

Very quiet on the western front, I'm sure it's just an oversight, or a statistically predictable anomalyBELIAL wrote:I know it's not polite, but just in the interest of furthering the debate ,would you be prepared to let all know what your basic salary plus bonus amounts torwbarker wrote:For the benefit of Claire 1.9 - and anyone who reads her post - in common with other senior managers inthe Royal Mail Group, I have not had a pay rise for the last two years. It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I hope he will place a response on here for all to see. I appreciate that some may see my questions as tame and innocuous, but I see little point in asking him questions we know he cannot answer. Again, I don’t want to be rude to him, but it is perhaps worth noting that his powers are limited – the big decisions are made at a higher level.billyhayes wrote:I do hope you share any info you get from him.The BFO wrote:Personal Message duly sent...
Now I have told him who I am, I half expect to see him come through the door and sack me!

Thought I'd dig this up... Seems you were quite safe BFO.
As apposed to RB anyway.
Ta ta ducks!
I wonder if there has been any "Transformation" over the Easter break?
Easter is a time of rebirth, new life etc etc, is it not?
Or will it be serving the same old customers we have been for decades, with the same old shite about having to push harder this week on targets as it is only a short one....
Still, i look forward to the Horizon network crashing 'cos it can't handle the number of transactions on the card accounts.
Happens every year.
Gonna play havoc with the waiting times.

What is the name of the Sub Postmistress (now retired) who ran the office close to where you live?

Re: Crown Transformation - Cat's Out Of The Bag...
I am an experienced Postmaster and I would love to have a big Crown office with the experienced staff they have.
However here are the reasons why "crowns" dont work and lose money.
The property normally costs too much in overheads...unsustainable costs!!
Too many high paid managers who are under pressure to acheive high sales and therefore pressurise their staff.
Counter staff that are paid too much!!! Yes paid too much!!!! its not that difficult to do Passports, currency, DVLA etc!!! £7.50/hr considered high for us!
Counter staff have to sell to every person at the counter and hit targets.... Unmotivated/pressurised staff or disinfranchiesd customers you decide!
I could go on... Leather seating, ticket waiting system, our low rate on BDC.
If we Mutualise we hope the Crowns come with us but not at the huge losses you are making at the moment!
Dont get me wrong we need to optimise our sales potential but not at any cost, I didnt go into this business to convince people to buy things they dont want.
Independant offices like my Commercial Office make money for POL therefore offices like mine are funding the loss makers!!!!!!

Should there not be a further exclamation mark after 'Evans'?
Thank you for pointing out what we already know, apart from the tirade over Crown Office pay. I would argue that Sub Postmasters and their staff are paid too little.

They certainly are! That is the reason we at the Crown offices spend at lot of our time putting right what has been done incorrectly at sub offices, eg. passports and driving licences. We also have to calm down customers who have been given the wrong information at sub offices. If you pay peanuts you will get monkeys.

Sorry about Nigel, he is just repeating the retoric he has been "fed" excuse the pun
.
I quite agree with the sentiment already expressed that we should be brought up to the proper standards enjoyed in the Crown Network, then we need to view the entire network holistically and stop this them and us, and work out how we can best face up to the future of providing PO Services to the public, whilst dealing with a Government that seems determined to destroy the Network.

Quite so - squabbling and scoring points off each other distracts from the threats we share.subbie wrote:Sorry about Nigel, he is just repeating the retoric he has been "fed" excuse the pun.
