There's nothing at all wrong with offering the public good services, but at what cost,as i'm led to believe an application has already been made to further increase the cost of a second class stamp,If we as a business are privatised as is the general belief, this cost will spiral..as will the cost of other services you provide over the counter,(do you really believe TNT want to sell joe public travel insurance?) If Leighton,Crozier,Brown and co get their way,TNT or DHL will be setting the cost of mail services in this country and you guys will be selling thier wares from a counter in Whsmith's adding their own mark up to it..Remind me again how these changes benefit the public???
if you aint payin..the mails stayin!!!

Trust you? I don't think so. You want to know what I'm fighting for? I would have thought my user name and avatar were fairly self evident. Quite obviously in the small world you inhabit everything revolves around whatever you think the job can provide. You're a firms man. Have you stood on the picket line yet?armani wrote:
Trust me, how do I need to spell it out. I AM a C W U MEMBER. Is that through YET???
OK what are you fighting for?
Lets see, decent pay and decent pension??
If we were working in a private company, how would we secure the above 2 statements?
By maintaining good income? YES
Then why haven't we been doing it over the last 3-4 yrs?
Only now that its become obvious the Business is heading right up the canal with no paddle do we want to fight against them for what we expect

Dear Armani........
........ the symptoms you are showing indicate that some considerable therapy may be necessary to adjust your condition. From your letters to our problem page it is obvious that all your personalities are in conflict and whilst some of my learned colleagues have managed to pinpoint several of them, I feel the more dangerous and most likely self harming one is still to appear.
This manifests itself as a belief that if you continue down the road you are on that all will be okay and the future will be brighter - what that brightness is will soon be apparent - your naivete and belief in your own perception of the business will be run down by a speeding monster truck full of half assed management improvements and money saving ideas which will dispense with your job and local business in the furtherance of commercial expediency.
I suggest you get off the road you are on and read further amongst these forums in order to understand what you and fellow sufferers are really up against. Please do not write in again as this agony column will shortly close for the summer,
kindest regards Auntie Rhino

Obviously moving to WH Smith with any more than we are alread y will be a massive blow to POL. Partly the reason I came on here to see the general overview of colleagues.pistol wrote:There's nothing at all wrong with offering the public good services, but at what cost,as i'm led to believe an application has already been made to further increase the cost of a second class stamp,If we as a business are privatised as is the general belief, this cost will spiral..as will the cost of other services you provide over the counter,(do you really believe TNT want to sell joe public travel insurance?) Remember TNT and co will need to offset the cost of a massive increase of depots, vehicles hubs just to catch up with RM. The unfortunate thing is, people will go to work with these outfits for £5.40 to do the same work as RM. Unfortunately we are helping that happen through strike action as companies (DWP) will and are already shifting across.
Infact, I received a letter from a TNT Courier a few weeks ago from CWU, now wasnt one of their points to save the future of our postal industry. So why the move to TNT?

You have quite a chip on the shoulder don't you. Are you a POL employee IWW?
If you are, then disregarding the recent strike action. i.e. lets go back 8 months. and I asked you the above as a fellow POL employee. What would your answer be?
please no more silly nonsense.
I have been im positions where line managers can be nasty (to say the least) and ive taken it against the business, but as is usual the managers take their own little approach on things and can and usually do upset the bigger picture.

Which particular question did you have in mind (if that isnt stretching things a bit too far)? The one where you want to know what I'm fighting for? The one where you want to know why we can't all live together? The one where you want to know what we need? Frankly mate, you're full of questions and so far, that's not the only thing you are full of.armani wrote:Indeed I have.IWW Fellow Worker wrote:Yes. I'm very proud to say I do. Infact, even our despatch postie who was there at the time was a bit unhappy, shall I say, When I opened it up. Especially when it had points on maintaining the future of our postal business.
Anyway Im not here for RM Stuff, just to gain knowledge on my questions.
