Re: Is it just me...
There are approximately 350 Crown Post Office Branch Managers. As with any other group of 350 human beings there will be male/female, black/white, gay/straight, good/bad, honest/dishonest, and so on.
There will also be some thin ones, and some Big Fat Ones.

Agreed, there are some really good/decent people as Managers - but it seems you are in the lucky minority. It's very hard work, and extremely frustrating, when you work for someone who frankly hasn't got a clue.counter man wrote: OK.....mine is human.....female................white........... straight (I believe) ..........good.........honest...................and so on.....

Surely the correct course of action is to make your feelings known via your Union and/or ‘Have Your Say’ survey? The BFO wrote:

Counter man,
Does your manager know how you feel about her? Does she have the same feelings for you? If you want the relationship to develop, you might be better getting a transfer.

My manager is due back from leave tomorrow. Things went so smoothly without her. The atmosphere was better and I am dreading her return. As we are going Shakespearean I think the witches in Macbeth come to mind

Yes,much the same as what some of you guys are saying, pushing the sales but seriously hammering the staff, taking the piss with sick stages, and there was a bit of a nasty incident that happened last week with the manageress and one member, the member is now off with stress.counter man wrote:do you know why Postman?
tbh until this site i did not realise that the managers in the business (not all of them though)are the same all over.
What a crazy company we work for!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Is it just me...
I think we're all getting a little off the subject here.
Billy's initial post was all about 'agreements' being made in the Crown Office network and then being consistently ignored because of 'our current situation' which loosely translated seems to mean we're in one almighty mess and it's up to us on the front line to drag our business out of it (once again).
It seems obvious to me that the way in which we are managing (some would say NOT managing) our business is just grinding down and frustrating our people in Crown Offices, counter staff and managers alike, and the sooner that we all do something about it the better.
Let's use Have Your Say (for what it's worth), use the CWU, use the CMA (for CMA read chocolate fireguard), express our concerns and feelings to our Crown Office Managers, CAMs and any other Senior Manager that will pretend to listen.
There is one group of people who understand how to efficiently run our network and how to provide service to our dwindling number of customers and that's the people who staff our Crown Offices day in and day out.
It's not the CAMs, it's certainly not the SEMs or whatever they may be called this week and it certainly isn't Alan Cook and his merry band of gobshites.

Re: Is it just me...
I just thought this thread had run its course, is all. Although there's only been a few posts the general consensus is.. it ISN'T JUST ME.
My focus is on what the people out there think of the Q4Insure bollocks. So I have been lingering on that thread, plus am avidly following the posties "2010 Agreement". As this will undoubtedly have a knock on effect on counters one way or another.
If other counter people want to keep up I suggest go straight to the posts by the user THE TRUTH! as this seems to cut through a lot of the crap.
