Hiya Blue8, that sounds about right to us tell the part-timers to get in touch with the union the BM can't just change
duties without the consent of the union and staff thats why you have COSA in place.

Read the COSA booklet. Which was sent out ages ago.

Actually, scrap that... anyone who has their head in the sand and is only now realizing that POL are using parts of COSA that were agreed eons ago, but were never used should be left scratching their heads and scrabbling to the phone to call the union.

It drives me round the twist when Managers and Staff misquote what is in COSA when all they have to do is read the sodding thing...

just like to say I am not a mug and it is how you read the paragraphs i have always been under the impresssion that you can be flexed up and flexed down as the business requires its. I have worked for the post office for ten years and my duties have always been flexes up and down all the time. However when some one wants to call me names without knowing the full facts so be it. Be lets be sure i have taken advice on this subject with my union rep and been told the error of my ways. I don't often get things wrong. I do have a good working relationship with my manager when it comes to union stuff and the majority of the time we sort it out in a right and proper manner with my union rep kept in the picture.

Hiya claire1.9, he can only flex up full-timers with six weeks notice, Part-timers are not part of flexing up but can choose to opt in if they choose.If you are on a fixed duty or rota with other staff he can't change your duty unless you all agree to the changes with your union rep. I hope that helps to clarify a few points for you and your colleagues.
