As self employed agents, I suppose we could join anything we wanted to, but if we withdraw our services to pol, pol withdraws our agency agreement. Simple. We don't have H&S protection, no minimum wage (contract states we do any work pol orders us to, as long as pol pay a 'reasonable' rate - IF NFSP had any balls, they'd have challenged 'reasonable rate' in a law court LONG before now, that would be an EXCELLENT use of subpostmsters' subs, and I would happily join them and pay my subs toward a class action lawsuit, which would probably have to go to the European Court, and drag into question the purpose and use of the government subsidy to RM and POL and the company's use, and accounting of, said subsidy).

cdpete2004 wrote:Now why would anyone want to leave the wonderful organisation that the nfsp is to join any other 'union' ? They fight for higher rates of remuneration, better terms and conditions, the welfare and well being of their members. Oh, no, wait. I'm tripping here. The nfsp, that's the useless bunch of d*cks who are at the moment squabbling over who said what to who about what, a pathetic group of individuals about to embark on a pathetic little civil war within their ranks. I have to declare my interest here and say I'm not, and will never be, a member of this sad little collection of insignificants...after all, I'm a subpostmaster, dammit ! Admired and loved by the community, highly valued by government and pol alike....oops....tripping again....

Surely the NFSP is a dead horse?
What level of membership do they need to exist?

EVERYONE LEAVE NOW !!

What level of membership ? More like how much does it cost to keep a useless executive living off the backs of their membership, and for how long will the membership continue to pay ?
