At least two or three in every office. I was heavily involved in a project a few years ago that actually did this. It will not surprise you to learn that some people literally do twice as much work as others.counter man wrote:Now that would be interesting...!!! 7. Dump Saturday afternoon opening and use the hours when they would be useful.
8. Re-deploy '3 letter acronyms' onto counter.

Yes, this is another one isn’t it? Apparently our talented leaders are considering this, but how many ‘extra’ hours during the week will this generate? And where will the customers who currently come in on Saturday afternoon go? I suggest the majority will come in on Saturday morning, making the overall effect zero.PostalOfficer wrote:7. Re: Sell or Shut!
I'll grant that you won't get a lot of hours off Sat. p.m., but every little helps.
My theory about Sat. p.m. was that we didn't get any extra customers, just the same customers spead out more thinly because they knew they could have a lie in rather than rushing down before 12:30. Also saves the horrible bit around Sat. lunchtime when it gets busy but the staff all have to go for lunch.
Sometimes I even wonder why we don't close at 17:00 instead of 17:30. Just a few folks from offices posting RMSDs that have probably been ready to go since 16:00 and one or two card accounts who always leave it until closing time to come in. (WHY?)

Agreed, in my last office the Branch Manager thought it would be a good idea to open on Sunday.PostalOfficer wrote: My theory about Sat. p.m. was that we didn't get any extra customers, just the same customers spead out more thinly
