Prepare to strike again, say post union activists

by Yuri Prasad

The likelihood of a resumption of strike action in Royal Mail is growing as talks between management and the CWU union have produced little in the way of an improved offer.

The dispute centres on pay, conditions and the prospect of up to 40,000 job losses. It has seen extremely solid action at offices across Britain and led to a backlog of more than 2.5 million items. At that point Royal Mail management requested talks about a “revised offerâ€

It's examples like Oxford and Leicester that show just what we're up against, however it is unfortunate that most members will be completely unaware of what is happening at these two offices let alone all the others involved in local disputes.

So I say to everyone on here GO OUT AND SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT OXFORD, LEICESTER, SOUTHEND, BRISTOL, LUTON AND THE OTHERS and let everyone know what spiteful and underhand employers RM are.

We have to be ready to be behind them 100% as if they lose we all lose.

PEC meeting tomorrow and a div rep briefing on wednesday.
The PEC meeting will be told of what if any progress has been made with a likely recommendation of further talks maybe 2 weeks.
A decision will be made and will be briefed to div reps and cascaded down to us.

Cheers

I have always been positive.

I am no more, nor no less, positive than I was at the start of this (wholly illogical stance from Royal Mail) dispute.

Let us be hopeful... :pray

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL AND HAVE FAITH

support for this kind of action would be minimal and therefore counterproductive . . . . we need total support or we will get nowhere . . . . however at this moment in time I understand how you feel :arrrghhh
