POL: Crown Office Network - Strike Action
POL is refusing to negotiate with the Union; as a consequence the Postal Executive has agreed a further TWO ½ day periods of strike Action to take place as follows:
· Monday 16th July commencing at 14:30 until end of duty
· Thursday 19th July from the commencement of duty until 12:00 noon.
It is my intention to write a further letter to Alan Cook, Managing Director POL, whereby I will re-iterate our commitment to engage in meaningful negotiations to resolve the dispute.
I will also advise Mr Cook that I am prepared to recommend to the Union's Executive the cancellation of the strike action, providing he agrees to immediately engage in serious negotiations with the intention of reaching an agreement that is fair for all.
It is essential that Branches ensure that this LTB is given the widest possible circulation to our members in POL as soon as possible.
It is also important that all Branch Officials play their part in ensuring that we gain maximum support for this strike action.
