General Election?

Today, in that bastion of high reporting morals and standards known as "The Sun" ( ) they reckoned that Brown would want to go to the polls within a year, so he could have his own mandate to govern, but do it within any honeymoon period of goodwill he might enjoy.

To my way of thinking, having one day stoppages every 2nd Friday and Monday might stuff that plan up, so it might put a time limit on L&Cs pressure, so how long, do you think, before HMG put their own pressure on RM, we get a good settlement and / or L&C get tin tacked?

The whole premise of this thread is based upon the politics desk of "The Sun" looking at all the information, and considering all possibilities & using their judgement, instead of putiing a list of dates on the wall & throwing darts at it

Personally, I'm hoping for it to get done and dusted within 2 months - but I doubt it will be before Christmas, if not longer

cant see brown wanting a national strike hanging over his head, so its goverment intervention from my way of thinking, especially if hes going to go to the polls, remember he gets a lot of financial backing from the union, can he afford to not show any interest.
