A Parcel Force van and a car are confirmed as having crashed on the A350 Yarnbrook Road, as police closed the road.

The crash, which took place at around midday on Thursday, December 18, saw emergency services rush to the scene of the road between Yarnbrook and West Ashton.

The road was closed by Wiltshire Police for over an hour as officers dealt with the incident.

A Parcel Force van at the scene was found with significant damage to the front driver's side.

It's understood from multiple eyewitnesses at the scene that the van collided with a car, which had been removed by the time reporters arrived.

Traffic was diverted away from scene of the crash and towards Trowbridge, causing large queues to form throughout the town.

"It's a nightmare trying to get anywhere in Trowbridge right now. Every car, every HGV, they're all being sent that way and it's just never ending queues," one motorist told the Wiltshire Times.

At this stage, it's not known if there are any casualties. Wiltshire Police has been contacted for further information.

The road was reopened to the public shortly before 3pm, and both vehicles have now been removed from the scene.
