More than 2,000 postal workers were injured by dogs last year.
Tenbury's MP Dame Harriett Baldwin has lent her support to Royal Mail's campaign urging dog owners to adopt safety measures.
The campaign aims to ensure safe mail delivery across the region.
After meeting with postal staff in Pershore, Dame Harriett, MP for West Worcestershire, highlighted the daily challenges they face and praised their commitment.
She said: "I took the time to visit the sorting office in Pershore to say thanks to the team for the amazing jobs they do getting mail and parcels to local homes and businesses.
"As someone who regularly visits homes to talk to voters and deliver leaflets, I know just how difficult their job is and the risks that they face if there is a dangerous dog on the premises."
She also discussed the recent sale and changes to second class mail deliveries and their potential impact on residents.
