The Royal Mail delivery office in Wickford was broken into last night, less than two weeks before Christmas. The postal service was targeted, in the early hours of the morning, with the suspect allegedly taking an empty pot on the counter, used for tips.

A spokesperson for Essex Police shared: "We received a call shortly before 1.40am today (Thursday December 12) reporting a window and door to a business in Gibraltar Walk had been damaged. Access was gained and damaged was also caused to equipment inside."

Police are appealing to the public to support them with their investigation. They added: "If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us. Please quote the crime reference number 42/186350/24."

You can let Essex Police know by submitting a report on their website or by using their online Live Chat service which is available 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week. If you would like to make an anonymous report you can contact independent charity @Crimestoppers, by visiting their website or by calling 0800 555 111.
