A key Royal Mail sorting office has been granted permission have solar panels installed on its roof.

The Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre is set to get the panels following approved from Slough Borough Council.

Elsewhere, the site of a temporary homelessness shelter could soon be turning into a learning and training centre if plans are approved by councillors.

A former emergency homelessness shelter could be turned into a learning and training centre under plans set to be considered by councillors next week.

John West House on Howarth Road, Maidenhead has been vacant since June 2022 when its five-year permission for use as a shelter came to an end.

The new plans would see extensive works carried out to transform it into a training centre with accompanied facilities.

It will be discussed by councillors on the Maidenhead Development Management Committee on November 15.
