Royal Mail‘s click and drop service has gone down, affecting customers who rely on it to send parcels.

The company is also experiencing issues with its app, with hundreds of people logging complaints with online outage tracker Down Detector, starting shortly after 8am.

Customers have also been complaining on social media, with MB Gift Shop UK posting on X, formerly Twitter: “Website down again. Click and drop seems to have issues after issues.”

Others users said they were unable to view receipts within the Royal Mail app to print off labels.

Click and drop is a service many small businesses use to send out their products. It allows them to pay for postage online, and Royal Mail will then collect the items and deliver them to the chosen address.

Today’s outage is hampering businesses up and down the country heading into the weekend.

Jo Jetson wrote on X: “When will the pickup service be working again, please? I have parcels to send out and your system is still down. Any lead time on when we can book pickups again?”

Phil Blues added: “When are Royal Mail going to get a website fit for purpose, and how about compensating your business customers who face problem after problem with your service???”

Royal Mail is yet to respond to the complaints and as of 11.15am has not issued any updates.

i has contacted Royal Mail for comment.
