Re: Reject the agreement! Renew the strike! Remove Ward and Furey!
Do you think the Cheka should arrest Ward and Furey and have them executed as counter-revolutionaries?
Is the time now ripe for an armed uprising?

Re: Reject the agreement! Renew the strike! Remove Ward and Furey!
Clashcityrocker and Richietns: Is that the best you can do? What a filthy smear equating a call to remove the unaccountable bureaucracy of Ward and Furey by rank-and-file postal workers with political executions and book banning.
This demand has been made repeatedly on the CWU’s social media accounts, challenging the sell-out deal, and on this forum.
But nothing Ward, Furey and the Postal Executive does causes you any outrage—overruling a renewed 96 percent vote for strike action, holding closed door meetings with Royal Mail, agreeing revisions in a joint statement with management, and then pushing a surrender agreement over pay, jobs and terms and conditions. And they have postponed a ballot twice out of fear it would be rejected. Why should Ward and Furey keep their positions when they betray their members express wishes?
The resolution of the Postal Workers Rank and File Committee sets out a perspective to end this stitch up and transfer power and decision making to those committed to a fight.
Just for once, why don’t you say what you really think instead of trolling anyone criticising the CWU leadership? You cannot openly defend Ward and Furey, so instead ridicule any call to oppose their rotten deal as a pipe dream. “Why not call up Robin Hood?” Perhaps you should ask yourself why you have ended up working for the clampdown.

The union have been great for many decades but look around you the company has no money it has to have money to survive simple as that, demanding won't change that, the world is gig economy now the economics and laws are swayed for big business if we took this deal we still have jobs that to me trumps ..rank and file let it burn mentality or strike forever, just being staunch isn't always the answer.

So there we have it postal workers should be thankful for a job and they just have to suck it up. You support the CWU rotten agreement with RMG which will not even defend a single job. 10,000 cut across the company ahead of schedule in the past financial year. Ward and company will be rewarded for signing up to the sweatshop charter with their positions in the Joint Working Party and Transformation Boards.richietns wrote: ↑31 May 2023, 07:10The union have been great for many decades but look around you the company has no money it has to have money to survive simple as that, demanding won't change that, the world is gig economy now the economics and laws are swayed for big business if we took this deal we still have jobs that to me trumps ..rank and file let it burn mentality or strike forever, just being staunch isn't always the answer.
Your position and that of Ward is pure Thatcherism - TINA - there is no alternative. This is based upon the pathetic claim that the wealth will trickle down. But the entire experience of privatisation proves otherwise and the pandemic, with the looting operation by shareholders leading up to the imposition of the 2 percent pay rise and restructuring agenda to overhaul "legacy benefits" to compete with the likes of Amazon. You turn reality on it head by claiming that it is those opposed to the surrender agreement who are the arsonists with the rank and file "let it burn mentality". Remind us again who is stripping out the USO and adopting a scorched earth policy against pay, jobs and terms and conditions. You parrot the line of Royal Mail and the CWU "there is no money ". The Postal Workers Rank and File Committee has exposed this fraud with RMG parent company IDS financial report showing liquidity of £1. 7 billion and promising the financial vultures another pay out based on this rotten agreement. We make no apologies for placing the interests of postal workers first and waging a fight against the financial oligarchy which controls the company.

Liquidity isn't profit its debt your committee hasn't exposed anything we dont already know, the fact that we are even getting a pay rise and lump sum is good given the state of the company.stage3 wrote: ↑31 May 2023, 10:26So there we have it postal workers should be thankful for a job and they just have to suck it up. Re: Reject the agreement! Renew the strike! Remove Ward and Furey!
Not really.
When I asked for an example of where or when a rank and file committee had achieved anything your alter ego (Merson) could only name the October Revolution and the Soviets.
Given that the October Revolution was an armed uprising that led to the establishment of the Cheka and the arrest, torture and execution of anyone deemed anti-revolutionary I assume you view this dispute going the same way?
Are you and Merson Lenin and Trotsky in disguise?
You are an anti trade unionist. Consequently we are not on the same side.
Come the revolution my side will liquidate you silly Bolsheviks (both of you) and then we will truly see which one of us has been working for the clampdown.
Meanwhile I will continue to troll you as much as I like because you are figures of fun and because unlike us, you aren't actually fighting for anything.

Re: Reject the agreement! Renew the strike! Remove Ward and Furey!
After this latest outburst I think you have fully earned the reputation as the real figure of fun on this forum. You hang around the comments sections like a bad odour not just attacking the Postal Workers Rank and File Committee but anyone who speaks out against the CWU's rotten sell out deal with puerile remarks to derail any proper discussion. Dishonesty is the hall mark of your entire approach. After your extended red baiting rant - a supposed ode to democracy - it turns out the only person calling for anyone's liquidation is yourself! Again you cannot come out openly and make a case for supporting the agreement and Ward and Furey. You deal only in smear and innuendo. The hoary old chestnut that opposing the pro-corporate bureaucracy is "anti-union." The agreement is full of commitments to increase "productivity" and "competitiveness" with Ward and Furey on the Joint Working Group with management. They are sacrificing what former generations have fought to win and have thrown the victimised reps and workers under the bus with this stitch up review. "Independent" indeed, headed up by the Blairite Lord Falconer who advised the NCB during the miners strike. You ain't fighting for jack but covering for a total capitulation. Defending the unaccountable bureaucracy against the rank and file is the sum total of your input.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑31 May 2023, 14:58Not really.

Do you think anyone takes you seriously?
At least I actually work for Royal Mail.
What do you and Merson do apart from pretend to lead the revolution from your bedroom?
And what exactly has a rank and file committee ever achieved anywhere in the world at any point in history?
You wank on about them as though they are going to do something, using big words you have learned from your Bolshevism for Dummies handbook.
You are beyond a parody of yourself.

Re: Reject the agreement! Renew the strike! Remove Ward and Furey!
This is my new favourite thread.
The term rank and file is a misnomer.
It should by its very definition be a broad church of all opinion and political persuasion drawn from the actual organisation they porport to represent but these so called rank and file organisations are more often outsiders and only welcome like minded refuseniks.
The use of the term is simply the sticky s**t you get on fly paper, the "plan" never goes beyond tearing down the establishment.
I still love a bit of anarchy, it was my policy of choice as a teenager but these people are anarchists without the balls to be true to their nature, they want us to take the risks and do the hard work while they drink a grande iced sugar free vanilla latte with soy milk and wear the cool clothes..
Hipster anarchy....

Re: Reject the agreement! Renew the strike! Remove Ward and Furey!
By now anyone reading this thread will be able to see for themselves who has taken up a principled approach to the fight at Royal Mail and those who have stooped to the level of the gutter. The Postal Workers Rank and File Committee has triggered a layer of burnt out former radicals who long ago made their peace with the existing set up and are hostile to any challenge waged against it. They really are in a state of denial with their pre-occupation in proving how supposedly ineffective the committee is because it has provided a voice to rank and file opposition.
The demoralised response from these would be sages, including the latest from "Woodie Guthrie" have proven the point I made earlier. To a man they side with the CWU bureaucracy in trying to smear the widespread opposition among postal workers to this rotten agreement. Without having the guts to say so they regurgitate the line of Ward and Furey that their is no alternative to a complete surrender to Royal Mail.
For that reason I don't intend to respond to the comments of those who are prepared to admit they are trolling. Their stupid and ignorant comments are aimed at burying a proper discussion below a welter of invective and abuse. The Postal Workers Rank and File Committee will continue to address the issues faced in overcoming the sabotage of the fight of postal workers by the CWU bureaucracy.

You are the worst kind of opportunist Tony, trying to tie your personal political agenda to the backs of working men and women.
Your po-faced attempt at the sanctimonious high ground fools no-one.
For you this is nothing to do with the rights or wrongs of the agreement or what happens next to the people involved or their families. You've written the same anti-union rhetoric about RMT, the teachers unions and the nurses.
Whether this agreement stands or falls will have nothing to do with your attempt to hijack the legitimate concerns of our members.
You and your cohorts at whatever the f**k you lot are calling yourselves this week are simply in it for the chaos.
