Frustrated neighbours have hit out at Royal Mail after a lack of mail carriers have left them without post for the last month.

Selina Butler, a resident of Bullbrook said that in certain areas across the RG12 2 area, post has not been delivered since April 17.

As well as upset, this has caused a great deal of worry within the community and for those who are waiting on important letters.

Selina explained: “Multiple complaints have been made and today it was confirmed by Royal Mail that they don't have anyone to deliver to the RG12 2 area and while they can see the post building up, they can't say when it would be delivered.

“Senders have been told that they can claim compensation in the form of stamps if they posted to the area over 10 days ago but the recipient has no claim and this area is not listed as being affected by issues on their website.

“While most areas in Bracknell are receiving daily or every other day deliveries no one has yet considered the possibility of rotating the deliveries so that all areas get mail at least once a week.”

“My neighbour has a disabled child waiting on medical referral letters, but this is of no importance to the local distribution centre.”

A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “We are sorry some residents have experienced delays to their post. Our delivery office that serves the Bullbrook area has recently experienced higher levels of sickness, which has impacted the quality of service we have been able to offer.

"Plans are in place to improve the service which are already yielding positive results.”

According to residents, Bracknell post office distribution centre is holding post and the head office complaints are hopeful that at some point this year they will be able to resolve the issue.
