Some residents say they are not getting their mail for weeks - and then not until the weekend
High levels of sickness is causing postal delays across Nuneaton, Royal Mail has admitted. CoventryLive has been contacted by residents in Vernons Lane who say that they have not been receiving their mail on normal days, in fact, some have not received mail for several weeks and then received it at the weekend.
"A first class letter posted on March 13 in Weddington arrived Vernons Lane on March 25. We are getting one delivery a week at present on a Saturday," a resident said.
A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “Deliveries in Nuneaton are currently taking place six days a week when there is mail to be delivered. Some delays have occurred due to a high level of sickness absence, and we are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.

"On occasions when a particular local delivery route experiences delays, we rotate deliveries to prioritise that route the next day, so that no customers should experience delays for more than one day."
As we reported in our newsletter, householders in parts of Galley Common complained that they had had not received mail for weeks.
Reiterating what has happened in this area, the spokesman said: " In the Galley Common area, we experienced some transitional problems as it is a new development, and have taken steps to ensure no further issues. We are again very sorry for any inconvenience caused.
