Police believe the postman may have witnessed the crash between a van and a car on Burman Road in Wath

Police are trying to find a postman who may have witnessed a crash in Rotherham that left a 21-year-old woman seriously injured.

On August 14 at around 11.25am a blue Ford Transit van was driving along Burman Road towards Doncaster Road in Wath when it was in collision with a blue Seat Ibiza travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Seat, a 21-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where she remains at this time.

The driver of the transit van, a 35-year-old man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: "Our Roads Policing officers are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Wath on Saturday (August 14) in which a woman suffered serious injuries.

"We’re now appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who has dashcam footage of the incident to contact us.

"We are particularly keen to speak to a postman who was on Burman Road at the time and may have witnessed the collision."
