TUC on the postal dispute

After hearing a report from Dave Ward, Deputy General Secretary of the Communication Workers' Union, the TUC General Council at its meeting today (Wednesday) expressed full support for the CWU in its dispute with the Royal Mail.

The General Council called on unions to give support to the CWU, for the Royal Mail to return to the negotiating table, and for the Government to encourage proper negotiations to proceed.

A good show of support from the TUC would be the dismissal of the CMA at the earliest possible opportunity. A scab union should have no place alongside people fighting for better conditions.

From what i heard today that could well be on the books, don't think they are very happy with CMA having a no strike policy as this doesn't really make them a trade union more of a staff association.

There was talk of this a few years ago, but nothing happened. I can understand the reluctance of fire fighters or health workers wanting to strike, but a bunch of useless office boys? They'll all be able to go and join that BNP union along with the rest of the enemies of the working class.
