Reading’s MPs Rob Wilson and Martin Salter will join MPs from Stroud and Gloucester in crunch talks with Post Office Minister Jim Fitzpatrick tomorrow to try to save the centre.
Royal Mail announced in September it planned to shut the Caversham Road mail centre, as well as its Gloucester base, and move both operations to Swindon.
Mr Salter said “When I met with Royal Mail managers last month they made it clear that this was a business decision for them and they were not particularly interested in the views of their staff or customers.
