I've posted this before.......But I just want to remind all RM workers whats in store if we give in to RM's Executive action....

Royal mail business plan over the next 5 years :

Take 9 F/T postmen , make the first 2 redundant ,make the next 6 part time, leaving 1 full time job out of 9.
On top of this give the postmen 2.5% (£8) increase, however remove night duty allowance, remove driving allowance, deliver 5 lots of door2door items but only get paid for 3 of them leaving the postie about £20-£30 p/w worse off.
Add in a further £350 Million in savings in the first year.

Add in a £400 - tax local bonus if targets are met.
Add in a £400 - tax national bonus if targets are met.
( but nobody know what the targets are )

Cover 20% of another delivery for FREE if someone is off sick / on holiday.
Less collections from boxes.
Less S/A...possibly None at all.......
Mail to arrive another 2 hours later than now. ( 1 Hour later now.....1 Hour next year....)
Fewer Post Offices for the public to use.

Fund Mr. crozier's £1.3 Million wage ( one of the highest paid civil servants ).

PENSION : RM took a 15 year cont. holiday but members still paid in every week - leaving a £3.3 Billion black hole (now members have to accept lower benifits / increased cont.)

All this for a basic of £252 take home pay
Thats why so many backed industial action

I hope you will contine to fight against these attacks on OUR jobs........

( on a brighter note...I see that the GOV. seems at last to be showing an interest in the dispute - by asking ACAS for a summary of the details of the arguement....COULD LEAD TO THEM REIGNING IN AL / AC....Light at the end of the tunnel )
I was sure I'd seen a bead of sweat on my line manager the other day - Until I realised that he had just brushed past me too close

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thank you all....

I wish to thank you all for your words of support......

Its easy to get down with RM managers always B & H all of us ......I was even told off for speaking the other day ! ( despite the fact that someone else spoke to me, and as I answered, I continued to work...Others have noticed that I am being singled out....BUT the more they confront me...THE STRONGER MY WILL TO STAND UP FOR MYSELF>>>THEY WONT GRIND ME DOWN ! )

But talking to others on this site GIVES ME HOPE........

TOGETHER we can turn RM around to what it used to be ....A QUALITY public SERVICE...NOT a cash cow for AL & Co.

My post above in NOT a JOKE....RM realy do intend to get rid of 27% of the workforce.....they want a 6 : 1 Ratio for P/T to F/T jobs for the remaining workers.....

STICK TOGETHER...WE CAN WIN ( THE ALTERNATIVE ISN'T WORTH THINKING ABOUT )

They'd have a fight on their hands. There is quite a few postmen who are TA or ex-servicemen, and the Basic is not as tough as it used to be back in the day.

Deadbox again as before an excellent post should put some steel in the backbone of those who are starting to think about scabbing.

brilliant deadbox we're trying to develop something like this to give to any future waverers in our workplace mind if we pinch some of it? will post it online when its done (next week)

how did you get this calculated, the 9 FT into 1 FT? RM keeps saying a 60-40 split FT to PT and the unoin goes along with this but i always thought it was just a figleaf to allow them to say there is still a majority FT workers, in fact i think your right and it will be teh other way round. :mad :mad

EVERY BODY that leaves now RM will try to make their job part time.
Trying to get a transfer nowadays from FT to FT is near impossible!!

The dum in my office, just removed a full-time duty, advertised as part-time in the local job centre. Position filled, guy is waiting for a start date. Dum did'nt even post it on board to see if anyone in the office was interested. So what you said Postman, is actually happening now. Union appeared to be unconcerned. :arrrghhh :evil/mad :arrrghhh

they have a full time recruitment ban which makes you wonder why the national leadership hasnt challenged it - because they dont want to rock the boat or undermine the efficiency agreement.

we wanted our brnach to ballot on it but were told we couldn't do it because it was a "management decision" on who to recruit - we've had 8 FT positions go PT! :d'oh!

but will it necessaiirly get to over 50%? RM and CWU leadership say it wont, but i think deadbox is right
