It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

w****r.
He skipped around Croziers wages twice.
Bigged up he'd made companys £15b,but kept on going on about share f***ing holders, slash and burn everywhere no doubt.
Seems the Government (shareholder) wants as much profit from us the way he was talking,so much for a public service!
Say he's got a plan and knows what he wants to do and knows where we will be in a few years time...................
But couldn't put an exact figure on job losses, lieing c***,said about 20,000 ish
His contract ends in March and he wants to stay, interestingly,i'm guessing he's skint or summin as he didn't slag of Blair,Darling or anyone in the Government at all and was happy with the way they had dealt with him and us.
And yes,skipped around the Union.
Also after hearing Croziers interview the other week as well, seems to me these interviewers are too f***ing scared to get stuck in.
Waste of time.

re: Book my former chief of Leyland is his bible
Did you know that? That's his bible. His whole philisophy is to remove as many layers from the CEO to the frontline person. I am surprised that he is staying on as I think times will get worse over the ext couple of years. Surprised he didn't take the offer of the NHS on.
I think RM needs a new Head who will put in place the automation phase, and can really revolutionise the IT and products the company offers. RM will really suffer otherwise. I think the jobs will go either quickly or it will be a bitter fight.
Leighton has a background of not giving into unions as he grew up workwise under Thatcher. What's the plan with the strikes assuming that they go ahead? 1 day strike around bank holidays etc... or all-out strike until the bitter end?
Sill reckon the senior exec. will give in after a while of striking and the RM exec. will conceed some of their plans. The usual theory of striking. It's bullsh*t really and you lot will suffer for the power hungry people on both sides
Don't let the lies and propaganda on all sides grind you down

Missed the begining but definately thought the interviewer went a little easy on him. As for him staying on, my guess is he's hoping to see in a privatisation and earn even more bucks than ever before...I guess they're trying to blitz the media in an attempt to undermine our position but ironically they keep making it worse for themselves.

Leighton's a total Wally , on whatever medium he spouts his fairytales on he always comes across as being
economical with the truth.
It happens every time , more often these days , that the hard-nosed businessman is seen, and rightly so , as being the bad guy.
Thatcherism , I really believe it's days are finally being numbered , and not before time either.
SUPPORT THE CWU IN IT'S FIGHT TO DEFEND YOU , DELIVER A VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN LEIGHTON & CROZIER, VOTE YES.
