There can be no mistaking that this is a crossroads postalworkers have arrived at. Never before have we faced such a savage onslaught on our jobs,our pay,or our terms and conditions of work. Messrs. Leighton & Crozier are right now, at this very moment
in time, hoping, and who knows,maybe even praying, that 130,000 or more postalworkers simply imitate Lemmings and commit the industrial version of suicide,thereby giving them a solid mandate to slash and burn their way across our industry and complete their process of reducing this once great public service into an empty,lifeless shell.
But I've a feeling that Britain's huge army of scandalously underpaid,grossly overworked,and yet despite that, dedicated, thoroughly professional postalworkers, will deliver a blow that will rock Leighton & Crozier back on their heels,collectively making it the most important delivery of their careers. That this will ensure that a decent rise in basic pensionable pay, our pensions continued to be protected, our jobs secured,an end to Leighton & Crozier's dictatorial approach towards negotiations with our union,the CWU,will be undisputed.
Every postalworker in Britain,play your part in what will no doubt be,a historic victory for us ............ Simply vote YES in the ballot for industrial action,the consequences in not doing so,really doesn't bear thinking about.
