33p weekly rise!!!

let's be honest, 33 pence for achieving our targets is just a bloody insult when the screws are getting lump sums in four figures for the very same targets. . . . . I would rather have been given nothing at all, 33p just seems to be rubbing salt into an already very sore wound

Well to put it in perspective it is the 92p plus the 33p x 52 which is Â£65 less tax and insurance say Â£21 so you get about Â£44 a year so it will only take 8500 years to get the Crozier bonus for one year - yeah it's a piss take right enough - but if Managers did get Â£3500 less tax and insurance about Â£2700 it would only take 61 years to earn that and with the way the pension is going that will more than likely be achievable!

could be a complete papadom (wah hay) as im not sure of the unit cost

33p payment for usâ€¦. Sadly itâ€™s not a joke

You will all be delighted to know that the fourth and final quarter of last years efficiency scheme has brought us the massive increase of 33 pence per week. This insulting payment is sure to galvanise support for the national postal strikes over the next two weeks.

Royal Mail have recently advised us that they have calculated the amounts due for the final quarter of the Efficiency Scheme 2006/07 which ended on the 25th March 2007. The total addition to consolidated basic pay will be Â£49,178 a week which when divided by the total staff equals an increase of 33 pence per week. This payment will be made into wages next week.

A quick calculation shows that at 33 per week we would all have to work for another 116 years to match the Â£2000plus bonuses that were received by management.

This clearly shows the contempt that Royal Mail holds itâ€™s workforce in. Please continue to back the union and remember â€“ donâ€™t spend your bonus all at once! 

At least you got something, remember the mdec staff are not included.

But Â£0.33 is an utter joke you can't even post a 1st class letter for that, maybe an extra pint every 5 weeks.
