I to cant see either side wavering.........but the old synic in me thinks bottoms may have been kicked from a certain gent who is about to move in to No 10,the railways are threatening to make life uncomfortable for him as well with a ballot for IA.

For some strange reason i think the fact that postcom have released an article that they are considering altering our USO to a five day delivery may end up as part of any agreement package that the union and rm thrash out.Crozier,Lieghton and dare i say it Dave Ward, must of known about this for a while.Postcom did'nt just pop in to work this morning and say"I've got a good idea, lets make the posties deliver 5 days a week instead of 6 days",so has this been left in the bottom of the bag for a last minute ingreedient for a deal.

Once again i do believe in my union.....thats not to say i trust them entirely,i trust Royal Mail even less
I know some of the lads at HQ and i can honestly say they do a fantastic job. Its hard sometimes with red tape and it gets very political but the likes of Bob Gibson and John Farnan are die hard union activists who will go that extra mile to make sure the members get the best deal.
Problem with ends to disputes is there will never be a winner and either side will not concede defeat that will show in the agreement.

Nobody could afford to lose their wages but in the 1970s strike under Tom Jackson but we stuck it out for 6weeks.

I will forever always admire the courage and suffering of those Posties who were on strike for a decent living wage

If you want a decent living wage and working conditions the only way to get it is to support your Union.

Dont forget the Goverment is involved in this, use your votes for MPs that support your Union.

If G Brown calls for a General Election its your chance to kick Ass at the ballot box.

Ask the CWU to withhold the Political Levy for the New Labour Party(Old Tory)after all they recruited Leighton & Crozier

There is no easy solutions we should all learn from past history their is room for Public services and Private Enterprise
but you cannot divorce the two

I have got to say that I have felt for a long time that having a strike in Royal Mail would be commercial suicide.

The Government own Royal Mail and will I am sure (*see below) agree.

Lets all prepare for strike on friday BUT lets all think positively and hope that RM or the Government end this to our mutual satisfaction.

* I did the "Dear Gordon Brown" post on here then sent to the Prime Ministers Office via email - I am not actually sure if they would agree - mainly as I have not received a reply!

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL
It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.
