It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I don't think the managers will strike, especially the LM's, RM will realise we can do the job properly without them breathing down our necks and probably put them back as posties.

Re: PENSION
These are proposals for current employees. New employees aren't even allowed to join the existing pension scheme. We don't know the details of their proposals, or how it would affect people who are working for them now, let alone people who have left and whose pension is frozen. But if they do raise the retirement age to 62 in 2008, and 65 in 2010, I would guess that it would probably apply to you too.cappamore wrote:I Left 3 years ago after 29 years and am 51. Re: PENSION
I would say that you will be entitled to draw your pension at 60. If you are in any doubt then e mail the pension admin who will be only too happy to help.cappamore wrote:I Left 3 years ago after 29 years and am 51. I was expecting my pension when I am 60: in 2015. When you left service you should have had a paper explaining your pension details - you should also receive a statement annually stating the current value and in any event at the time you left the current proposals hadn't been thought of and so you could hardly be expected to abide by them.
